Response to an accusation of racism

This was my response to a comment about racism left on the news article about President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize on the KFDM news website.

When you say the word racist, are you looking in the mirror??

I find it extremely amusing how acediggity will claim people are racist when they say how a person doesn't deserve an award because they didn't EARN it.

I guess I AM racist, if you define racism as a prejudice against a person getting a "free ride". Or when a person is to lazy to EARN thier own way thru life. Or when someone sits with thier hand out expecting to be GIVEN everything instead of helping themselves to EARN what they want. I guess I am racist when I abbor the mentality of "if you say anything against a person with different skin color than yours, then you are a racist" even when that person didn't DESERVE what they recieved.

I do not care WHAT color your skin is. If you EARN something, worked hard for it, then you should get it. If you didn't, then you SHOULDN'T be given it. If you break the laws, then you should be punished no matter what skin color you have. If you are stupid enough to run, resist arrest, fight an officer of the law attempting to restrain you, then you get tased, beaten until you comply, and hauled off to jail. I do not care WHAT your skin color is, if you are too stupid to use some d@mned common sense, then you deserve what you get.

MANY blacks only want equality when it BENEFITS them without any of the consequences. That is NOT equality, that is a free ride. I refuse to give a free ride to ANYONE: black, white, yellow, green, brown, red, purple, or orange with zebra stripes.

You want equality?? EARN the rewards and take the consequences just like EVERYONE else does. Throw out the double standard, throw out the "excuses", throw out your OWN racism!! Get rid of the affirmative action and EARN a job position thru hard work, education, and qualifications instead of on your color, sex, and sexual orientation. Affirmative action WAS needed when desegregation first happened, I agree to that. But in this day and age, it is nothing more than a TOOL abused by too many people and groups who refuse to stand up and be counted as someone who DESERVES the benefits.

Teach your children to work hard, EARN thier way thru life, never be dependant on ANYONE else for thier happiness, and to respect themselves and other people. Teach them that thier actions have consequences and some of those consequences aren't always GOOD ones. Stop being afraid of your children and BE a parent instead of expecting everyone else to raise your child. Teach your children the word "NO" and what it means. Teach them they do NOT always get what they want just because they want it. They have to EARN it!!

Use some common sense and stop making excuses and accusations of racism when others do not agree with you. While racism DOES still exist to some degree, it is given a bigger persona that it actually deserves.

In my PERSONAL experiences, I have heard MORE blacks use racist remarks towards not only whites but against thier own population than I have EVER heard used by any other skin color. I have watched MANY blacks use race as a means to get benefits they did not earn or deserve. I have watched MANY blacks use the race card to intimidate other people into backing down and doing what THEY want them to do.

Notice, I said MANY and not ALL?? This is because there are a LOT of fine, upstanding, hard working, self respecting, black people in this world. Unfortunately, MANY blacks call them "Uncle Tom" for daring to rise above being a thug, druggie and welfare case.

You want to know why racism, instead of dying off, is actually starting to rise again?? Look at how MANY blacks behave and present themselves to the world. Look at the comments made by acediggity and other like him and ask yourself WHY is racism still an issue after all these years.

Affirmative Action Law

The worst idea that was ever dreamed up was "Affirmative Action". It is discrimination/racism at it's finest called by a pretty name. It takes away equality by it's very nature by saying that if you meet certain criteria, you are almost guarenteed a position in a company based on that criteria rather than on qualifications of skill and knowledge. What human being (we are ALL human beings) with a modicum of pride wants to know they are promoted/hired, not because they EARNED the position or deserve it, but rather because they fit a profiled description under the "Affirmative Action" law? I do not care what skin color you are, what sexual preference you have, what your ethnic background is, or what handicap you have...if you have worked hard, studied, can do the job hired for, and surpassed all others in competition with you, YOU deserve the job/promotion. Basing employment or promotions on anything less than QUALIFICATIONS is discrimination in and of itself...no matter what fancy name you call it by.Want discrimination and racism to be eradicated? Start by getting rid of the very laws that promote it!!

Sound off on your opinion about Affirmative Action by responding to this posting. All veiws welcome!

Let the games begin!

Hello and welcome to Rhiannon's Rants.

I just started this blog and I admit, I am a newb when it comes to these things. This is my very first blog and most likely will be the only one I ever have.

A little about me: I am known for putting my two cents in when I should just keep my mouth closed. I ask questions that most people think are stupid (just because they never really thought about it themselves). I admit I am highly prejudice, not against race, religion, or color, but against blatant stupidity and laziness. I like truthfulness, not the BS everyone likes to shovel out and then try to convince me it smells like roses. You may not always like what I say, but I am being honest with the facts as I know them. I am sarcastic in a humoruous way, I like pointing out the obvious (because most people gladly overlook it), and I will happily agree to disagree on most any point and will still have respect for you as long as the discussion isn't reduced to mud slinging and name calling.

I do not add content on a regular basis as my time is limited and so is my attention span most days. If there is something more you wish to know or discuss, drop me a line and ask.

Have a great day!!!
